I am delighted to share that I have been appointed to the Office of the Public Guardian Deputy Panel.
This appointment is both a privilege and a responsibility. The Deputy Panel exists to ensure that vulnerable people are properly supported and protected. Members of the panel are appointed by the Court of Protection in cases where no suitable family member or friend is able to act as deputy.
As a deputy, my role will involve making important decisions in the best interests of individuals who lack capacity, always guided by the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
This might include:
Having worked with clients and families in this area for many years, I have seen first-hand how challenging it can be to navigate these situations. For families, the responsibility can feel overwhelming. For vulnerable individuals, it is vital that they have someone independent, experienced, and trustworthy to act for them.
Being appointed to the Deputy Panel is recognition of the specialist work we do at Endeavour Law in deputyship and Court of Protection matters. It reflects our commitment to offering practical, compassionate support to those who need it most.
I look forward to bringing my experience as a solicitor and director of Endeavour Law to this role, working to uphold the highest standards of protection and care for vulnerable people across England and Wales.
