Joanne Matthews

Head of Private Client

Joanne always aspired to work in the legal profession, having completed her studies at the University of Glamorgan and subsequently qualifying as a Solicitor in 2007. Having gained her experience working in the high-volume Residential Conveyancing sector, Joanne moved onto working in one of the UK’s first Alternative Business Structure where she developed her skills in probate and estate administration, and gained invaluable management experience.

Joanne specialises in all types of private client matters including Wills, Probate and Estate Administration, Court of Protection and Deputyship work, Powers of Attorney and property related work. Joanne has a wealth of experience in advising clients on lifetime planning and inheritance tax planning. With her experience she prides herself on providing a holistic approach to each client and is privileged to help people with planning for their future in a sensitive and caring manner. Joanne understands how important it is to provide support and comfort to her clients and their families during difficult times and particularly enjoys helping clients come to grips with what is often unfamiliar legal territories and finds that straightforward practical advice makes the difference to the clients.

Joanne has used her experience to support and develop others and is passionate about leading a team to both support the clients and the business and to aid the professional development of others. Seeing others gain experience and develop their knowledge is key to her role and she enjoys both the challenge and reward gained from this.

Outside of work Joanne enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and experiencing different countries and cultures.
